The Worst Passwords of 2018

We’ve reached the end of another year and it’s always a good time to take stock and reassess. For those interested in cybersecurity, SplashData has once again supplied us with their list of the 50 worst passwords for the past year. We really should stress, if you’re using one of these passwords CHANGE IT IMMEDIATELY (preferably to any other word or phrase not found on this list).

 

With that being said, here are the 10 worst passwords for the past year:

  4. 12345678

  5. 12345

  6. 111111

  7. 1234567

  8. sunshine

  9. qwerty

  10. iloveyou

 

There are some small bright spots (no pun intended #8) including ‘admin’ falling out of the top ten. We’ve previously written about better password security, and with the new year around the corner there’s never been a better time to implement a stronger one. Ransomware and malware continue to be threats, but poor password strength can compromise your business, relationships, and identity with even greater ease.
